Court Appointed Child Advocates (CASA)

United Way of Hudson County provides direct funding support and other donations to the Court Appointed Child Advocates (CASA). Along with funding, United Way of Hudson County helped secure office furniture and computer equipment for CASA’s Jersey City headquarters.

CASA provides an important service to the abused and neglected children of Hudson County. An independent, non-profit organization, CASA advocates for the best interests of abused and neglected children. CASA trains community volunteers to speak in court on behalf of children who have been abused, neglected and removed from their homes and placed into out-of-home care such as shelters, group homes and foster families. CASA volunteers ensure that needed services are available to foster children and oversee their well-being as they move through the judicial process toward safe and permanent homes.

There are hundreds of children in Hudson County living outside their homes in shelters, group homes and foster care. Volunteers are desperately needed to advocate for these children. For information on how to become a CASA volunteer, please call 201-795-9855. Hudson County CASA is located at 591 Summit Avenue, Suite 318, Jersey City, NJ 07306.
