Hudson County Child Abuse Prevention Center
United Way of Hudson County provides funding support to the Hudson County Child Abuse Prevention Center, a private, non-profit agency that provides parent education, youth empowerment professional training, community coordination and awareness. United Way of Hudson County also sits on their advisory board.
The mission of the Hudson County Child Abuse Prevention Center (HCCAPC) is to promote the safety and well being of Hudson County children by providing programs and services that develop and strengthen the community’s capacity to nurture children and prevent child abuse in all forms. It also runs the Hudson County Child Advocacy Center
The Center is run by Executive Director Peter Herbst, MSW, LCSW, who joined HCCAPC in 1989. Executive Director Herbst is a New Jersey licensed clinical social worker and a certified family and marriage therapist. He has extensive experience with non-profit agencies and 38 years working with children in camping and athletic programs and in educational and therapeutic settings.
